We are looking for a Facilities Operative to support our office manager to oversee the day-to-day operations for our Nailsea offices, ensuring all teams are safe and can function to provide a high level of customer service. You may also be required to support our regional sites and depots for our field teams.
What you'll do - Perform hands-on routine and reactive maintenance to buildings, facilities and infrastructure including basic DIY standard plumbing, joinery and painting.
- Ensure health & safety procedures are reinforced and clearly highlighted at all sites.
- Manage contractors that arrive on site effectively, record the work performed and arrange call-out visits when required.
- Frequent checking of the Facilities inbox to ensure all allocated work is dealt with efficiently and effectively.
- Manage the Pelican Postal Service, collection, and distribution of post.
- Assist with DSE requirements.
- Perform building checks and testing including fire alarms and extinguishers.
- Respond to emergency requests as required.
- Assist with Office moves, moving furniture and specialist equipment.
- Ensure site security is adhered to with regard to the locking and unlocking of buildings.
- Adhere to safety regulations, company policies and standards.
What you'll need - A knowledge and ability to undertake basic building maintenance tasks including basic plumbing and decorating.
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and of building infrastructure.
- A full driving licence.
- Forward thinking with the ability to foresee issues before they arise.
- A proactive, positive can-do attitude and self-motivated.
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative to make decisions.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
- You will need to have strong administrative skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
